Team work

The team behind The Street Store Brasília project consists of 7 people. In all editions of the event, I was responsible for communications. My roles include managing our Facebook events and page, with over than 2,300 likes, and profile on Instagram, with approximately 900 followers. Since 2015, I have created graphic pieces for publicizing the event in print and web, produced and sent press releases to the media and propagated the project along with blogs and relevant influencers. All the publicity generates awareness, not only to the event, but on the situation of the homeless and other social issues.

Street Store Brasília: dignity for the homeless

The Street Store is a non-profit street store that was established in 2014 in South Africa. The goal of the project is to donate products to the homeless and other people in need. This way, they have the experience of choosing the products and greater dignity in the process.

With Street Store Brasília, the event is always as dignified as possible. There is the “shop” space, where people can choose the products they want at no cost. Donated items include clothing, shoes, towels and blankets, toiletries, toys, among others. There’s also food (breakfast and lunch), entertainment, simple health exams and haircuts for them.

The Street Store Brasilia team has held 3 editions of the event in the capital: on 23/08/2015, 21/05/2016 and 09/04/2017, always in central Brasília. In three editions, we collected more than 20k items for donation, which benefited approximately 2k people directly or indirectly.
