Amazon Prime Video's interface has basically the same design across all devices: a banner with some hero images of featured movies or shows, followed by content sorted into categories. From the menu, the user can access a search engine, Home, the TV Shows or Movies category and adjust settings.
Some key features of the platform:
- Watch Party: users can host a computer browser-based watch party on Amazon Prime with up to 100 other people who also have Prime, syncing their watching and chat at the same time;
- Download for Viewing on the Go;
- Separate profiles for everyone who shares an account;
- Set Parental Controls;
- The X-Ray feature feeds viewers a steady stream of info about the actors, filmmakers, music, and assorted trivia in each scene;
- Closed captioning;
- Customize Captions;
- Amazon Channels lets users add subscriptions to other streaming services.
User reviews
Amazon has a section only for Prime Video customer reviews. On the Brazil, US and UK pages, many complaints were related to the ads before each content starts, the price of channels add-ons, the catalog selection and issues with the user interface.
